We were at a prospective new account several months back. The meeting came via an introduction from two existing clients. We were there explaining our referral marketing process to the G.M. who said, “I don’t know… do people really rely on their peers that much when making a buying decision?” Still somewhat skeptical, he said he would get back to us after calling the clients who made the introduction in the first place. Ironically, by doing so, he answered his own question! We often rely upon the opinion of our peers when making a purchasing decision. That prospect became a client!
